"Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their work: If one falls down, his friend can help him up, But pity the man who falls and has no one to help him up! Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm. But how can one keep warm alone? Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. Acord of three strands is not quickly broken."
Have you ever experienced a time when you were dealing with a problem, by yourself? On the flip side have you ever dealt with a crisis and had a close friend there with you? Encouraging and praying for you as you walked through what seemed to be a dark valley?
Over the last two years I have been walking through a very difficult time with my health. I was having a lot of pain in my head and on the right side of my face. There were days when I could not get out of my chair. Ultimately, I had to have brain surgery to fix the problem.
During this difficult time, the scriptures above became very personal to me. I believe it happened in the form of 3B Fellowship. Over the last two years, I received brotherly love, support, encouragement, prayers, and inspiration from the men of this group. It never failed that on the days I was hurting and in pain or feeling lonely and discouraged, a text or email from a brother they were thinking of me and was praying for me. It gave me the strength and hope to know I was not alone.
I know many of you have had a difficult time over the last few months as well. Loss of a spouse or family member. Loss of a job. Sickness of a friend. Child who is struggling. Marriage that needs healing. I hope that in those difficult and challenging times you experienced this same care and support as I did. I hope you sensed that you were not alone.
Prayer: Dear Lord, I want to praise you for surrounding me with a group of men who encourage me in my walk with Christ. I realize that being with these men helps me know I am never alone. Thank you for this brotherhood of faith, fellowship and fairways.
