"You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us." -Romans 5:6-8

I heard my grandfather say one time, "I have done too many bad things for God to love and accept me." Have you ever said that to yourself or someone you know? Have you ever said, "I can't go to church or be forgiven because I have done too many sinful things for God to accept me?"
The biggest lie the enemy tells us is, "You are not good enough to be accepted by God." The scriptures above dispute's this lie. God so desired a relationship with us that He took the first step in sending His son Jesus. He did not wait for us to get our life together and then send Jesus. God knew that without a sacrifice there would never be a way for us to be good enough for God.
I loved the way the late Billy Graham ended each night of his crusades. He would give the invitation to accept and follow Christ and then have the audience sing the song, "Just as I Am." This simple song let people know God accepted them just as they were. Knowing Jesus would empower them to become just as he desired.
The invitation is still the same. Come to Jesus just as you are and He will enable you to become just as He planned.
Prayer:  Dear Heavenly Father, Thank you for sending your son, Jesus to die for me while I was still a sinner. Your sacrifice enabled me to become a part of your family. Your grace, forgiveness and love are amazing. In Jesus' name, Amen!
