Psalms 103:11-12-"For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his love for those who fear Him; as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us." (NIV)

Do you believe the above scripture is true? Do you believe it was written for you? Do you believe God has truly forgiven you? Do you still confess sins that God has already forgiven? Have you accepted His love for you, or do you still carry the shame of past sins? If you do, then the scripture for today is yours.

I had a friend who would go to God in prayer and confess the same sins he had already asked Him to forgive. He would do this almost every time he went to the Lord in prayer. Finally, one day when he was praying, he again asked God to forgive him of these particular sins. On this day he felt like God replied, "I don't know what sins you are talking about." It was at this moment my friend realized the truth of Psalms 103: 11-12. God had removed these sins and casted them as far as the east is to the west.  Since there are no east and west poles, God will never hold a confessed sin against us ever again. They have been forgiven and God no longer holds them against you.

The writer of Hebrews also understood this truth. In Hebrews 8:12 it says, "For I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more." (NIV) Also, in Hebrews 10:17 it says, "Their sins and lawless acts I will remember no more." (NIV) God chooses to no longer hold our confessed sins against us, period. We have been set free from the guilt, shame and condemnation associated with our past transgressions. We are free to experience the joy and peace found in a life with Jesus.

The good news is that Jesus Paid it All when He was nailed to the cross and rose from the dead. When Jesus said, "It is finished", John 19:30 (NIV), He was talking about the rule of sin, death, hell and the grave. We no longer have to be in bondage to these things. We are free to experience the life Jesus called us to experience. Jesus said in John 10:10, "The thief comes only to steal, kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full." (NIV)

Are you still walking under the shame and guilt of your past sins? Are you trying to work to overcome your past life? Today, walk in the freedom Jesus has paid for you on the cross. Realize God is no longer holding your past sins, that you have confessed, against you. Know that when you bring these sins back to God in prayer, He will say to you like my friend, "I don't know what you're talking about." Jesus paid it all for you to experience the joy of your salvation. May you walk in the freedom only Jesus can provide.

Prayer-Dear Lord Jesus, I want to thank you for providing salvation for all my sins. Help me understand that all my sins that are confessed to you have been forgiven and you no longer hold those sins against me. Thank you for your grace that allows me to walk in the freedom of your presence. I love you and need you today and every day. Help me understand that on the cross, Jesus Paid it All. In Jesus' Name, Amen!
